Soulful Simplicity by Courtney Carver
I have loved Courtney Carver’s blog Be More With Less for a long time, and have been looking forward to reading her book for months now. I love books about slowing down and living an intentional life, and love reading stories of how people have actually done it.
At the height of my burnout I very much felt that my life and my busy schedule were in charge of me, instead of me in charge of my own life. The changes I’ve made to slow down and be intentional in my life have brought me great joy and peace. If you are on that journey too, I can’t recommend this book highly enough! It is my favorite book I’ve ever read in this genre, a cross between a memoir and a self-help book, a how-to with heart. Courtney has a beautiful story and is so very wise.
My favorite quote from this book “As you create more time, energy, space, and attention in your life, use the simplicity to make a life you are excited to wake up to every day. Use it to better engage in relationships. Use it to instill confidence to live where you want, work where you want, and most important, to finally be who you are... remind yourself that you aren’t creating a simple life, you are making a life.”
